Apple Raisin Cookies

Looking for a cookie with a little crunch? Try our Apple Raisin Cookies! They’re delicious and have no sugar added! This recipe was originally featured in our 1994 cookbook.

Ingredients
½  cup chopped dates
1 cup raisins
½  cup chopped apples
1 cup water
2 eggs, beaten
½  cup shortening
¾ cup chopped nuts (walnuts work well)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda
1 ¼ cups flour

Instructions
Combine dates, raisins, apples, and water. Bring to a boil and boil for 3 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Chill dough. Drop by teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° F. for 10-12 minutes. Best if kept frozen. Very moist.
