Board Chair Marie Ziegler

on Being a Royal Neighbor

Board of director Marie Ziegler

Royal Neighbors member and board of directors chair Marie Ziegler put in 1,020 volunteer hours in 2022, equating to more than $64,000 in Social Good for her community. We sat down with her to find out what makes her passionate about being a Royal Neighbor.

What does it mean to you to be a Royal Neighbor?
It means I am a part of an organization with 128 years of providing life insurance products, supporting women’s empowerment, and serving the communities we live in to make them thrive.

What is your favorite volunteer activity?
I sit on many nonprofit boards. I love it because we work hard to improve quality of life for their clients, making our community stronger. I also enjoy the creative challenge of building raffle baskets to donate to nonprofit fundraising events.

What inspires you to volunteer?
I have acquired skills that helped me tremendously on my career journey. I am blessed by the incredible relationships I have gained through volunteer opportunities. All the friendships I have are a result of a relationship that began through volunteerism.

What do you enjoy most about serving on the Royal Neighbors board?
The opportunity to support Royal Neighbors’ mission to empower women and those they love – through a life insurance product or service to their communities – is wonderful! I want to thank our members for placing their votes to elect their Royal Neighbors board of directors. Our strong governance, stability, longevity, and growth are a direct reflection of our members’ values and commitment to our mission.
