Grandma Hodge’s Frosted Peanut Butter Brownies

Member Kadi Hendricks Tubbs was introduced to this recipe at a family gathering. It has been her favorite dessert ever since. Once you make it, you will most likely claim it as your favorite too! Enjoy!

Brownie Ingredients
1 cup Crisco
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
4 tbsp. (heaping) peanut butter (crunchy or smooth)
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup flour
4 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. almond extract

Brownie Instructions
Mix Crisco, sugar, and eggs in bowl. Add peanut butter. Sift in flour, salt, and cocoa. Stir in flavorings. Bake in a greased 9×13 pan for about 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Test with a toothpick. If it comes out dry, they are done. Remove from oven and cool.

Frosting Ingredients
2 tbsp. margarine softened
3 cups powdered sugar
Milk- enough to make it the consistency to spread
1 to 2 tsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Frosting Instructions
Beat well and frost brownies.
